Productivity at the Bottom of Apalachicola Bay

December 17 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Harry Mumma, the Reserve’s Davidson fellow and Notre Dame PhD candidate is studying ecosystem metabolism over Eastbay using several different instruments that measure CO2, O2, and other water quality parameters at different areas within the water column. By collecting data monthly and at different habitats over two years, the study will look at how metabolism varies with season, under different freshwater flow regimes to the bay, and in different habitat types. Harry will share some of the data he has analyzed, and his sampling will continue into 2026.
